Lunergy lanceert de X2400 AC: een betaalbare, plug-and-play thuisbatterij

Lunergy launches the X2400 AC: an affordable, plug-and-play home battery

Plug in, Power Up — No electrician needed

For households with solar panels, adding a home battery often means hiring electricians, drilling holes in walls, and going through a complex installation.
The new Lunergy X2400 AC puts an end to that. It’s a true plug-and-play battery : plug it into a regular wall socket, follow a few steps in the Lunergy app — and you’re done.
No tools, no wiring, no installer needed.

Netting ends — Self-consumption becomes essential

From 2027 onwards, the net metering scheme in the Netherlands will be gradually abolished.
This means that you will no longer receive full compensation for the solar power that you supply back to the grid.
In fact, feed-in tariffs could drop below €0.01 per kWh , and some experts are even warning of negative prices .
That's why solar panel owners are now thinking differently: instead of supplying power back to the grid, it's becoming more important to use it yourself — when it really saves you money .

1 million households switch to batteries

Home batteries are no longer a niche solution.
According to the latest National Smart Storage Trend Report 24/25, more than 1 million Dutch households will install a home battery by the end of 2026.
With ever- changing energy prices and evolving grid policies, smart storage is rapidly becoming the new norm.

A new kind of battery — years of development

The X2400 AC is the market’s first expandable plug-in battery .
We started development several years ago, with a clear mission: make clean energy more accessible to everyone .
By removing installation barriers and simplifying the start-up process, Lunergy helps families participate in the energy transition on their own terms .

Smarter size, smarter costs

Many batteries on the market are too big and too expensive .
They often start at 5 kWh or more, with 3–5 kWh being enough to get most households through the night.
And with installation costs, home assessments, and mandatory wiring, costs often run to over $1,000 per kWh .

On the other hand, smaller batteries often do not provide enough power to power appliances such as air conditioners, dryers or induction hobs at night.
That’s why Lunergy designed the X2400 AC with a 2400 W inverter and a 2.56 kWh base unit — expandable as needed.
A flexible solution, suitable for every household.

Available this fall — Expandable to 23 kWh

The Lunergy X2400 AC will be delivered in late September 2025.
It works completely independently of the grid, plugs into any standard socket, and is compatible with all solar panels and inverters .
You can start with 2.56 kWh , expand to 7.68 kWh per unit , and even scale up to 23 kWh and 7.2 kW output for three-phase homes.
